I was saved when I was 7 years old. When I asked Jesus into my heart, there wasn’t much fanfare. I had known of Him my whole life, grew up in a Christian home, church, convictions, etc. And although I knew He had the power to save (I really did believe it), I just now came to a realization that so many Christians forget.
God is real.
And while that may seem pretty obvious; I think those of us in the Bible belt will all agree that eventually (if we don’t guard against it), we get complacent….And the Bible doesn’t seem as powerful as it should be.
Here’s something to think on:
Everything in the Bible is 100% accurate.
- Jonah being swallowed by a fish: true.
- God using Elijah to bring fire from heaven: it happened.
- David killing a 9 foot soldier with a stone and a slingshot…yep.
- A perfect man, 100% human and 100% God, beat, dead and then raising again 3 days later to atone for our sins: by God’s grace that actually occurred!!!
Paul being in prison, yet continuing to exponentially grow his ministry by writing the words of God….Can you believe it??
The Israelites being led out of a dangerous and sinful city, through water, night, drought, hunger and thirst, and into a land blessed by the Lord: that’s true too!
So, while this knowledge may not hit you like it hit me this week, I pray that you will begin to understand the power, amazing love, and awe of our Savior….
Whether you’ve known Him for years or just met. 🙂
~By His Grace,
